Holiday Events at E.C. Mason Elementary School

E.C. Mason Elementary is in full swing for the holidays with a few upcoming events:

  • The Holiday Music Concert will be held on Thursday, December 13th at 7 pm in the school cafeteria. The E.C. Mason Choir will perform a collection of holiday songs. Parents and the student body are welcome to attend.
  • The Jingle Bell Walk for Diabetes is Friday, December 14th. Students and staff have collected dollars for donation to the American Diabetes Association. Thanks to all who donated to this worthy cause. The E.C. Mason PTO will provide cocoa to students when they complete their walk. Walking times are:
    • 9 am -10:15 am for 4th and 5th grades
    • 12 pm – 1 pm for Kinder and 1st grades
    • 1:15 – 2:15 pm for 2nd and 3rd grades
  • Christmas Parties will be held on Friday, December 21st from 11 am to noon in the classrooms. Parents are welcome to visit the classrooms to assist the teachers with the party.

E. C. Mason Elementary Student Council Wins Excellence Award

E.C. Mason Elementary Student Council received the 2012 Honor Student Council Excellence Award. Developed by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), the Excellence award recognizes outstanding achievement conducted by the Student Councils in the areas of community service, student leadership, citizenship and school spirit.

The Alvin ISD Board of Trustees recognized the E.C. Mason Elementary Student Council as one of 63 Student Councils in the State of Texas to receive the honor.

"Our students do an outstanding job being leaders at our campus and making a difference. We are extremely proud of their efforts and thankful for this recognition," said Fulvia Shaw, principal of E.C. Mason Elementary.

The following students were recognized on behalf of the E.C. Mason Student Council: Jake Adams – president, Anna Claire Curl – vice-president, Kirstyn Neal – secretary, Ashley Jackson – treasurer, Hannah Stuart – historian, and Sierra Serrato – parliamentarian.
