Discovery Green’s 2nd Annual Fun-omenal Family Festival

Discovery Green’s 2nd Annual Fun-omenal Family Festival kicks off at 10 am on Saturday, September 29th. Last year, over 4,000 people attended the festival during its inaugural year.

The free one-day family event includes a foam party, character appearances, story time, a quad jumper, an amazon extreme obstacle course, a rock wall and more!

Baby Olympics showcases babies and toddlers ages 5 and under in various categories for a chance to win an Olympic medal and prizes:

Alvin ISD Revs Up for the Ford Drive One 4 UR School Event

The Alvin ISD Education Foundation is revving up for the Ford Drive One 4 UR School Event from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Ford will donate $20 for each test drive and Ron Carter Ford will match the donation. Proceeds benefit the students of Alvin ISD. The highly acclaimed district serves the master-planned community of Sedona Lakes.

The annual event is popular with area families with many gearing up for the event held at the Alvin ISD Memorial Stadium parking lot. The test drive and paperwork will take less than 15 minutes. Participants will be eligible for a $100 Best Buy Gift gift card plus other prizes. Some restrictions apply.

Discovery Green Flea by Night

Discovery Green presents Flea by Night, a one-of-a-kind market, on the third Saturday of every month. The September 15th installation of the vintage market held from 6 to 10 pm will feature music by the Wild Mocassins beginning at 7 pm.

Discovery Green is located in Downtown Houston across from the George R. Brown Convention Center and only a short drive away from Sedona Lakes off Highway 288. The park offers families many activities each month including several series regulars including the Discovery Flea by Night.

Set in the shady southeast end of downtown’s Discovery Green, the Flea by Night market offers unique shopping with many vintage items, recycled and repurposed crafts by local merchants. Shoppers enjoy light bites and local entertainment.
