Houston No. 1 City For Relocation

Posted on Friday, 06 April 2012

And the population just keeps on growing: Houston is ranked the No. 1 destination for relocation in the United States for the third year in a row, according to a report by U-Haul International Inc. Is it our mild winters? Our proximity to the coast? Our world-renowned arts? Or just the job market, which is growing faster than any other metropolitan area. More than 94,700 jobs were added in Houston alone between January 2011 and January 2012. U-Haul's ranking, based upon data from more than 1.6 million rental truck transactions in 2011, puts Houston ahead of Orlando, Fla., Las Vegas, Chicago and San Antonio. Austin ranked No. 5 on the list, and Dallas No. 15. Plano and Fort Worth also made the top 50.
