The trails wind around Sedona Lake’s lakes, park and recreation center areas and green spaces.

Sedona Lakes is located just 15 minutes from downtown Houston in Brazoria County and just south of the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world.  Even closer to home, residents enjoy a wide selection of retail and dining opportunities in the new Pearland Town Center.

Served by the TEA Recognized-rated Alvin ISD, Sedona Lakes provides quality educational opportunities and extensive extracurricular activities at every level.

Six furnished model homes are open daily by Coventry Homes, Darling Homes, Highland Homes and J. Patrick Homes.  Homes are priced from the low $200s to $600,000s.

Recycle with Pearland Parks and Recreation Center

Posted on Thursday, 08 March 2012

Living green leads to saving green, as well as to a healthier and happier lifestyle. While there are many things and gadgets to make your home “greener”, here is a short list of things that can make any home green.

Kitchen – Purchase in bulk, according to Martha Stewart “bulk items reduce waste up to 90 percent by volume and 75 percent by weight over single-serving portions.

Utility Room – Turn the water heater down by 5 degrees will save on the electric bill and still keep the water nice and warm.

Foundation Insulation – this will help keep the foundation warm by stopping it from essentially becoming a refrigeration unit. “Peter Lytle, founder of the Minnesota-based Live Green, Live Smart Institute suggests taking on the sizable project of adding a 2-inch layer of Styrofoam 4 feet below ground around the house.” according to MarthaStewart.com

Laundry Room – Nix the heated dry and opt for air fluff or even better line dry the laundry when possible.

Home Office – Time to upgrade the home office electronics, donate the old ones to charity.

Garage – Set up a home recycling center in the garage for glass, paper, plastic, etc. Inside the Pearland City Limits the center will pick up selected recyclable materials including clear & colored number 1 bottles and number 2 plastic bottles, glass, newspaper, magazines, Catalogs, telephone books, printer & copy paper, mail, aluminum Cans, steel Cans, and steel lids. To recycle other materials visit the Stella Roberts Recycling Center in person.

These tips will make it easy to live green in each room in the house. For more information on Green Living and the Stella Roberts Recycling Center visit the Pearland Parks and Recreation Center!
