Sedona Lakes’ students attend schools in the Alvin Independent School District (ISD), an acclaimed district that provides an engaging setting for academic excellence. The district has grown considerably since its humble one-room beginnings in 1881, and now comprises 23 campuses serving more than 18,000 students.

Alvin ISD has experienced 33 percent growth over the past 10 years and has managed this expansion well, evidenced by its receiving a rating of “Superior Achievement” under Texas’ Schools Financial Accountability Rating System of Texas for many consecutive years. The Superior Achievement rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of Alvin ISD’s financial management and reporting.

E.C. Mason Elementary

Sedona Lakes’ youngest students attend E.C. Mason Elementary, known for its rich history, community involvement and commitment to providing high-quality education in a caring environment.

The Houston Chronicle has named E. C. Mason one of the best suburban elementary schools in the area, with the school receiving high scores for student-teacher ratios and standardized testing scores.

Rodeo Palms Junior High

Middle school students in Sedona Lakes attend Manvel Jr. High School at Rodeo Palms, a state-of-the-art facility opened in August 2012. Teachers and staff work in partnership with parents to provide students the best possible educational experience.

Manvel High School

Alvin Community College

Alvin Community College is Brazoria County’s premier public, two-year community college. Accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees and certificates, Alvin Community College provides educational opportunities in workforce training, academics, technical fields, adult basic education, and personal development.

Houston Community College System (HCCS) — South Campus

The third largest community college system in the nation, HCCS has improved the lives of more than 2 million students. The college system provides a solid foundation for transfer to four-year institutions with academic degrees, along with terminal degrees and certificates, continuing education and corporate training. In all, the college offers more than 300 programs and 2,000 courses. Located on SH 288 and Airport Blvd, HCCS – South Campus is only a 10-minute drive from Sedona Lakes.

The University of Houston

Every year, students come from around the world to pursue graduate and undergraduate programs at the University of Houston. The university educates more than 40,000 students in 300-plus undergraduate and graduate academic programs, and awards more than 8,000 degrees annually. With nearly 225,000 alumni, UH graduates can be found in leadership positions from Capitol Hill to community nonprofits. The scenic 550-acre campus is a short drive north of Sedona Lakes.
