Brazoria County- A Top Area for New Business

In a recovering economy, Brazoria County has thrived beyond measure and is among the top ten counties in the Gulf Coast region to substantially grow. Over the last two years the county has increased new business development and created more jobs.

According to the current issue of Site Selection Magazine, 14 new plants have opened between October of 2009 and October 2011. Several expansions have also occured. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data says, Texas led the nation in positive employment change between January and November, with 144,550 new jobs added, representing 13.4 percent of national jobs gained.

The growth does not show signs of slowing down anytime over the next several years. The Chevron Corporation has a trinity of projects planned for Brazoria County that will create approximately 400 new long term jobs and over 10,000 new engineering and construction jobs, says Chevron. Several other Oil & Gas corporations have plans for the region as well.
